"The results for the first nine months of 2024 confirmed Intesa Sanpaolo's position as a European leader," CEO Carlo Messina said, recalling that Intesa Sanpaolo's market value now places it alongside BNP Paribas and Santander, despite the banks having significantly larger balances.

"In 2024, we expect net profit to exceed 8.5 billion euros. The target indicator of net profit for 2025 has been increased to about 9 billion euros, - emphasized the CEO, - which reflects the significant potential of organic growth of our bank."
Among the main strengths mentioned by Messina's CEO:
- high profitability;
- stable results;
- solid capital;
- low level of risk, which allows the bank to play a unique role in supporting the real economy and social landscape of Italy.
In addition, the CEO recalled that in the first nine months of 2024, Intesa Sanpaolo provided more than 30 billion euros in medium and long-term loans to Italian households and businesses, and its employees in Italy received more than 4 billion euros in compensation.
Given that as of September 30, 2024, dividends have already been accrued in the amount of 5 billion euros, and 40% of this amount will go to Italian families and shareholder funds, the tax contribution of Intesa Sanpaolo for this period is 4.6 billion euros, which is EUR 700 million more compared to the first nine months of 2023.
To mark the 100th anniversary of World Savings Day, the National Bank of Ukraine is launching a new project - All-Ukrainian Financial Literacy Testing for Adults. This initiative is aimed at self-diagnostics of Ukrainians' own financial knowledge and their motivation for self-education in the field of financial literacy. In the future, this testing will become annual. THE ASSOCIATION OF UKRAINIAN BANKS IS THE INFORMATION PARTNER OF THE PROJECT.
The testing will last from October 31 to November 7 inclusive. All citizens over the age of 18 can take it online for free. To do this, you need to go to the educational website
Why is this important?
According to the results of the study "Financial Literacy, Financial Inclusion, and Financial Well-Being in Ukraine in 2021", conducted by the USAID Financial Sector Transformation Project in cooperation with the National Bank, a significant part of the population overestimates their level of financial knowledge. Thus, 45% of Ukrainians believe that they have an average level of knowledge in financial matters, although their real knowledge is often much lower. Particularly vulnerable are young people aged 18-19 and people over 60, whose financial literacy indicators remain lower than the average in Ukraine.
Andriy Pyshny
Governor of the National Bank of Ukraine
"We are launching the All-Ukrainian Financial Literacy Testing and every year in October-November we will offer Ukrainians to take an express check-up of their financial knowledge and receive free personal recommendations and a selection of materials from NBU experts to increase their own financial awareness," said Andriy Pyshny, Chairman of the National Bank.
Participants will be able to take the test both in organized groups and independently over the course of eight days, assess their knowledge, and receive recommendations for improvement. The approximate time to complete the test is about 20 minutes.
Director of the Communications Department of the NBU
"The all-Ukrainian testing is not only a self-test of knowledge, it is also a simulator into which we have "sewn" 20 real-life situations that millions of financial services consumers face every day. Test participants will receive personal recommendations and useful information for further study. This will help them prepare for similar financial situations in life," commented Yulia Yevtushenko, Director of the NBU Communications Department.
