"Hryvnia. More than money": a unique exhibition about the historical path of the national currency and its influence on the development of Ukraine opened in Kyiv

On March 27, the grand opening of the exhibition "Hryvnia. More than Money" took place at the National Center "Ukrainian House". The organizers of the events were the National Bank of Ukraine together with the country's leading archival institutions and museums. The opening of the exhibition "Hryvnia. More than Money" was attended by the Chairman of the National Bank of Ukraine Andriy Pyshny, the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Ruslan Stefanchuk, as well as government representatives, people's deputies, financiers and public figures. They proclaimed the importance of the national currency as a symbol of the independence and economic stability of the state. The Association of Ukrainian Banks was represented at the event by its first vice-president Vitaliy Romanchukevich. He highly appreciated the scale and content of the project, assessing its importance for understanding the history and identity of Ukraine.

The exhibition "Hryvnia. More than Money" is not just an exhibition of coins and banknotes, but a deep study of Ukrainian statehood through the prism of the national currency. It shows the evolution of the hryvnia: from the first mentions in Kyivan Rus to the modern artistically designed banknotes of independent Ukraine. The symbolism of the hryvnia is an integral part of Ukrainian culture, history and sovereignty.
This year, the Association of Ukrainian Banks turns 35 and, according to Vitaliy Romanchukevich, this exhibition is of particular importance for AUB. After all, the Association of Players played an important role in the introduction of the hryvnia in 1996, which was not only an economic but also a political step in separating Ukraine from the ruble zone of the aggressor country Russia. That is why the hryvnia is more than money, it is a symbol of independence and irreversibility of the Ukrainian path.
During the opening, Vitaliy Romanchukevich then said that the exhibition expresses its scale and depth.
