The Memorandum on Ensuring Transparency in the Payment Services Market, signed by leading banks and financial institutions of Ukraine, is being expanded. As of April 2, 2025, several financial banks have joined it, confirming its readiness to implement transparent and secure practices in the payment services market. Since the initiative was launched, 51 banks and 2 payment systems have joined the Memorandum.
At the initiative of the Association of Ukrainian Banks, the Independent Association of Banks of Ukraine and with the support of the National Bank of Ukraine, on December 10, 2024, the Memorandum on Ensuring Transparency in the Functioning of the Payment Services Market was signed by the country's permanent banks, which are committed to the transparent and secure functioning of the payment services market. A key element of this document is the introduction of unified standards for the provision of payment services that contribute to the fight against financial fraud and strengthening control measures over payment transactions.
The active accession of Ukrainian banks to the Memorandum indicates the strengthening of interaction between financial institutions to create a safe environment for clients, which is an important component of the development of the financial sector in Ukraine. The growth in the number of signatories to the Memorandum also reflects the general trend towards the adaptation of Ukrainian banks and financial institutions to international standards of transparency and reliability of financial services.
The signing of this Memorandum of Understanding is a step in ensuring the interests of payment service users, who, in turn, contribute to the development of the national economy and financial stability in the country.
