Ukrfinzhytlo will expand the capabilities of eOselya in cooperation with the World Bank

Ukrainians will have more opportunities to purchase housing with mortgages. Mechanisms for expanding the program were discussed on November 4 at a meeting of the Committee of the Association of Ukrainian Banks. Representatives of 25 leading banks in the country took part.

They discussed updating the “eOselya” program, in particular, in terms of increasing the social orientation of the program.

The main goal is to expand citizens' access to housing while maintaining the stability of mortgage instruments for banks.

They also discussed how to make mortgage terms understandable and uniform for all banks, in particular the creation of a single loan agreement and the agreement of fair rates. They also talked about how to protect the interests of both banks and borrowers: how to calculate penalties, insure housing, and motivate people to comply with loan terms.

Cooperation with the World Bank was considered separately. This involves creating a new compensation model that will help make mortgages more accessible to Ukrainians. If the pilot phase is successful, Ukraine will be able to attract additional funding from the World Bank for the development of the “єОселя” program.

The participants will present their proposals based on the results of the discussions at meetings with the World Bank.
