Results of the Association of Ukrainian Banks for August 2025

We provide monthly updates on the activities of the Association of Ukrainian Banks (hereinafter referred to as the Association or AUB).

During August 2025, the Association took the following steps/measures to address pressing issues related to the development and protection of the financial sector's interests:

  • An appeal was sent to the Office of the President of Ukraine and the International Monetary Fund regarding the adoption of the Law of Ukraine “On Amendments to Certain Legislative Acts of Ukraine Regarding the Development of Financial Inclusion in Ukraine.”
  • Explanations were provided regarding the Memorandum “On Ensuring Transparency in the Functioning of the Banking Payment Services Market” to Payment Service Providers – participants in the Memorandum.

Participation in thematic events

  • On August 5, a free webinar was held on the topic of implementing digital solutions in the field of collateral management, asset valuation, and risk management.
  • On August 7, an online round table was held on the topic “Open Banking: A Revolution of Opportunities or a Pandora's Box for Security?” organized by the AUB in partnership with SB-Club and the consulting company ProMoney.
  • On August 14, a webinar was held on “Arbitration Court – An Effective Tool for Resolving Financial Disputes.”
  • On August 14, the AUB and the International Cyber Academy signed a Memorandum of Cooperation aimed at improving the cyber resilience of financial institutions, developing modern digital services, and implementing European cyber security standards in Ukraine.
  • On August 21, a meeting of the AUB Council was held.
  • On August 21, a webinar was held on the topic: “Current issues in taxation for financial institutions: practice, risks, explanations.”
  • On August 22, the Association held an online meeting dedicated to the development of the factoring services market in Ukraine.
  • On August 27, 2025, the second meeting of the AUB Committee of Non-Bank Participants in the Payment Market was held.

Media coverage of AUB activities

  • In July, the Association actively covered its activities in leading national media outlets. AUB representatives participated in broadcasts on various television channels and information platforms.
  • The Association's First Vice President, Vitaliy Romanchukevich, commented on the key trends in the transformation of Ukraine's financial sector in wartime during a live broadcast of the national telethon “Yedyni Novyny” on the Inter TV channel.
  • The Association's First Vice President, Vitaliy Romanchukevich, provided practical advice to young people on making informed career choices in the latest edition of his author's project.

The mission of the Association of Ukrainian Banks is to support the development of the national banking system. The AUB cooperates with the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on improving the legislation governing banking activities, and interacts with the National Bank of Ukraine on regulatory support for the functioning of banks and non-bank financial institutions. The CBA takes care of the professional development of bank employees, expands international relations with associations and banking institutions of other countries.
