The President of the Association of Ukrainian Banks took part in the presentation of the results of a nationwide survey on the awareness of financial services consumers about the deposit guarantee system, organized by the Deposit Guarantee Fund for Individuals.

The presented study once again confirmed that the level of awareness among citizens is growing, but important areas for further educational work remain. Data on the perception of banking services and understanding of the principles of the deposit guarantee system in different age groups became especially valuable.
The President of AUB drew attention to the significant progress in the development of digital banking services. Mobile applications of Ukrainian banks today are not only about convenience, but also about functionality and design that meet world standards. At the same time, he emphasized that digitalization should not eliminate human contact. Banks that provide their clients with quick access to consultations with a live specialist, not just a bot, gain a significant advantage.
The topic of the shadow economy was separately raised in the speech. The President of AUB emphasized that the banking community strictly adheres to the requirements of the regulator regarding the origin of funds, but part of the economy is still outside official circulation. The task is to find effective mechanisms for the gradual integration of these resources into the transparent economy of the state.
It is important to remind users of financial services: for the period of martial law, all funds of individuals in banks are fully protected by the Deposit Guarantee Fund. After its end, the guaranteed amount will be UAH 600,000 — one of the highest figures in the region.
