Meeting on financing farmers: participation of the Association of Ukrainian Banks and the Minister of Agrarian Policy

The Association of Ukrainian Banks organized a working meeting between Vitaliy Koval, Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine, and the heads of more than 20 leading financial institutions in Ukraine.

Serhiy Mamedov, Vice President of the Association of Ukrainian Banks, moderated the meeting.
During the meeting, key areas for strengthening financing of the agricultural sector were discussed, in particular:

▪️ Activating lending to micro, small, and medium-sized agricultural producers;
▪️ New tools for interaction between the banking sector and state support programs;
▪️ Increasing the investment attractiveness of the agricultural sector;
▪️introduction of environmental and social standards (ESG) to maintain access to preferential financial resources;
▪️credit support for projects in the areas of storage, processing, livestock farming, and land reclamation.

Strengthening credit support for the agricultural sector requires coordinated interaction between the financial system and the state. The AUB consistently acts as a constructive mediator — it summarizes business requests, consolidates the position of the banking community, and translates it into practical proposals for joint decision-making.
