New impetus for the financial sector: GIZ workshop and AUB initiative on European integration
More than 50 representatives of the banking sector took part in the first workshop within the framework of the three-year GIZ Ukraine project “Step in 2 EU”, implemented with the support of the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ).
The event brought together state, private and international banks to discuss key challenges, new opportunities and strategic directions for adapting the Ukrainian financial sector to European Union standards. The workshop program included intensive panel discussions, presentations and practical sessions dedicated to the transformation of the banking system in the context of European integration changes.
The Association of Ukrainian Banks is actively involved in the European integration process, taking into account the need to adapt the regulatory environment, strengthen institutional capacity and implement European management standards.
"This step was a logical continuation of our participation in the new three-year GIZ project - Step in 2 EU. The first workshop brought together more than 50 representatives of state, foreign and private banks of various sizes, which indicates a high level of interest and readiness of the financial community to actively participate in the European integration process," said AUB President Andriy Dubas.
He also noted that the Association has established a permanent Committee on European Integration, which will become a platform for exchanging experience, coordinating the efforts of the financial and banking sector and developing joint solutions on the path to integration into the European financial space.
AUB expresses its sincere gratitude to Wolfgang Bücher (GIZ) for his leadership, support and for the Association becoming part of this important project. Thanks to joint efforts, we will be able to effectively represent the interests of the banking community in the European direction and ensure high-quality integration into the EU regulatory and economic environment.
