On December 4, 2025, the 20th Congress of the Association of Ukrainian Banks was held in Kyiv. The event marked a new phase in the development of the financial community and summed up 35 years of institutional development of the AUB. The participants of the Congress reviewed the Association's report for 2024–2025, adopted a number of organizational decisions, and approved strategic directions for development for the next three years.
AUB President Andriy Dubas presented a comprehensive overview of the Association's work. He emphasized that over the past two years, the AUB has significantly strengthened its role as a leading professional platform for the financial sector: it has expanded its membership to 83 institutions, intensified advocacy on legislative reforms, and deepened cooperation with the National Bank of Ukraine, government institutions, and relevant committees of the Verkhovna Rada.
Significant results have been demonstrated in the development of international cooperation: the opening of the AUB Representative Office in Brussels, participation in the events of the European Banking Federation, the signing of new partnership memoranda, and the launch of joint educational and analytical programs.
Key achievements during the reporting period also included expanding committee work, strengthening analytical efforts, widely covering the financial sector's position in the media, and supporting social and recovery projects, including initiatives for veterans, financial literacy programs, and entrepreneurship development in the regions.
The Congress decided to form a new composition of the Council of the Association of Ukrainian Banks, which will operate for the next four years. The Council includes representatives of the banking and non-banking sectors, including the heads of the country's leading financial institutions.
Separately, the Congress participants considered the strategic priorities for the development of the AUB for 2026-2028. The focus remains on advocating for the interests of the financial sector, participating in the formation of a modern regulatory environment, deepening Ukraine's integration into the European financial space, developing educational and analytical programs, strengthening committee work, and implementing social initiatives.
Summing up the work of the Congress, the President of the AUB emphasized that the Association will continue to serve as a unified consolidated platform for the financial community, ensuring systematic dialogue with state and international partners and promoting transparent, sustainable, and competitive development of Ukraine's financial sector.
The 20th Congress of the Association of Ukrainian Banks was an important step in determining the future trajectory of the organization, which for 35 years has been uniting and protecting the interests of financial market participants, shaping professional standards, and promoting Ukraine's integration into the European financial space.
