The participants of the meeting discussed the issue of increasing the effectiveness of the banking community's interaction with the media and the public in the context of the information challenges of wartime. Particular attention was paid to the topics of supporting the military, developing veteran business, financial inclusion, and creating a barrier-free banking environment.
The discussion concerned increasing the effectiveness of the external communication policy of the banking sector in the context of the information challenges of martial law, providing socially significant information in response to the growing public interest in the role of financial institutions in ensuring economic stability and supporting citizens.
The members of the Committee shared their experience in implementing socially important initiatives by banks and creating inclusive services. Among the proposed projects is the development of a video course for bank employees, which will teach ethical interaction and communication with veterans.
A separate block of discussion was digital security. A thematic workshop for communication specialists is planned, dedicated to cyber security and practical cases of responding to information threats.
Also, within the framework of the meeting, the participants agreed to organize an educational event for communication specialists and marketers of the banking sector, dedicated to the possibilities of using artificial intelligence in public communications, working with clients and social networks.
Particular attention was paid to closer cooperation with the Communications Department of the NBU. As the committee members noted, this interaction is evidence of the unity of the banking community, increases trust in the banking sector, and contributes to the effectiveness of financial education in Ukraine. In particular, the active participation of AUB and the member banks of the Association in the new NBU project - “Financial Literacy for Defenders of Ukraine” was noted.
The AUB Committee will continue to work on consolidating banks' communication efforts to strengthen the transparency, sustainability, and reputational reliability of the Ukrainian banking sector.
