Results of the Association of Ukrainian Banks for November 2024

On a monthly basis, we inform you about the activities of the Association of Ukrainian Banks (hereinafter referred to as the Association or the UBA). Therefore, we would like to inform you about certain measures/steps taken by the Association in November 2024 to address current issues of development and protection of the financial sector.
Banking sector issues
- The AUB sent a letter to the National Bank of Ukraine regarding the need to resolve the issue of interest and penalties under loan agreements.
- The Association sent letters to the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine and the Security Service of Ukraine to provide clarifications regarding the documents confirming the right to credit privileges for military personnel of the Security Service of Ukraine.
- The AUB processed the responses from JSC “Ukrzaliznytsia” and the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine regarding the elimination of discriminatory requirements for banking institutions in the tender documentation of JSC “Ukrzaliznytsia”.
- The AUB sent a letter to the Banks of Ukraine to provide information on lending and benefits for military personnel.
Issues of non-bank financial institutions - The AUB sent a letter to the National Bank of Ukraine to provide clarifications on the status of politically exposed persons and issues of financial monitoring.
- The Association has processed the response from the National Bank of Ukraine regarding the possibility of sending a one-time password to a consumer by a credit intermediary.
- The AUB has processed the response from the National Bank of Ukraine regarding clarifications on the application of the requirements of Ukrainian legislation on financial monitoring.
- The Association sent letters to the National Bank of Ukraine regarding the consideration of draft laws No. 12148 and No. 12148-1 on the peculiarities of lending and financial leasing during martial law.
- The AUB has processed a preliminary response from the National Bank of Ukraine regarding the revision of the terms of implementation of the requirements of the National Bank of Ukraine Resolution No. 123 dated 10.10.2024 for financial payment service providers.
Participation in thematic events
- On November 02-08, representatives of the Association of Ukrainian Banks team together with the producer of the documentary “Da Vinci” made a European tour to present the documentary “Da Vinci”. The charity film tour covered seven European capitals: Budapest, Bratislava, Vienna, Prague, Krakow, Warsaw and Vilnius.
- On November 06, representatives of the UBA and IFC held a meeting to discuss the possibilities of new strategies for the development of the financial sector.
- On November 07, the XII International Business Forum “Science-Business-Education: Strategic Partnership” was held under the information partnership of the AUB and the Kyiv National Economic University named after Vadym Hetman.
- On November 21, with the information partnership of the Association, the Lviv IT Cluster held the first all-Ukrainian event for top managers and owners of service IT companies - Ukrainian Outsourcing Summit.
- On November 27, the UBA held its own final conference “Financial Sector of Ukraine 2024: Results, Challenges, Forecasts”. The event brought together leading banks and financial companies, representatives of the Government, the regulator, and leading financiers and bankers to discuss the most pressing issues of the financial market.
- On November 28, the EBA held a meeting of the banking and financial community with Priscilla Toffano, the new Resident Representative of the International Monetary Fund in Ukraine. The event was organized by the Association of Ukrainian Banks.
- On November 29, the UBA held a roundtable discussion with representatives of Ukrainian banking institutions and experts from Ukrfinzhytlo. The event brought together more than 40 participants, including representatives of the country's leading banks and mortgage lending experts.
Coverage of the CBA activities in the media
- In November, the Association was actively working in the media, covering its activities and contributing to the improvement of financial literacy of the population. The AUB press service ensured the organization's participation in key information campaigns and events related to the financial sector.
- The AUB press office actively supported national educational projects of the National Bank of Ukraine. In particular, the All-Ukrainian Financial Literacy Test, the information campaign to protect the rights of insurance consumers “Know Your Rights: Insurance”, for which it received two letters of appreciation from the National Bank of Ukraine.
- The AUB media activities included providing expert comments and interviews for leading Ukrainian media, including Suspilne, Espresso, Channel 5, and Ukrainian Radio. As part of the Financial Literacy Initiative project, materials were published on Ekonomichna Pravda and a TV program was broadcast on Espresso TV channel.
- Thus, in November, the UBA not only actively worked to disseminate information about its activities, but also made a significant contribution to the financial awareness of society.
