Укр AUB Compliance and Financial Monitoring Committee meeting: key issues for NBFIs
On 15 August 2024, a meeting of the Association of Ukrainian Banks' Committee on Compliance and Financial Monitoring (NBFM) was held to discuss the challenges faced by non-bank financial institutions (NBFIs).
The main focus was on preparing responses to null requests during NBU inspections and identifying discrepancies in the ultimate beneficial ownership (UBO). The participants agreed on the need to develop clear guidelines and unify approaches to addressing these issues.
Following the meeting, it was decided to:
- Collect additional issues for discussion at the next meeting.
- To send a request to the State Financial Monitoring Service for clarification on the discrepancies in the CBC.
- To hold the next meeting of the committee in 2 months.
Thus, the meeting contributed to the improvement of further work in the field of compliance and financial monitoring at the NBFI.
