The Association of Ukrainian Banks took part in the 59th Meeting of the Associate Members of the European Banking Federation
On 7 June 2023, the Association of Ukrainian Banks (‘AUB’) took part in the 59th Meeting of the Associate Members of the European Banking Federation (‘EBF’) held in Athens. The event was represented by Vice President Petro Pekur, who emphasised the full support of Ukraine by the international banking community.
The meeting, organised by the Hellenic Banking Association, was aimed at discussing the latest developments at the EU level, digital finance and cybersecurity, as well as sharing national achievements and priorities. Petro Pekur noted that support for Ukraine at the international level is critical in the face of current challenges.
The event confirmed that the Association of Ukrainian Banks will become an associate member of the European Banking Federation. This membership opens up new opportunities for cooperation and development of the Ukrainian banking sector in the European context.
All participants of the event, including the heads of the European Banking Federation, the Netherlands Banking Association, and the Hellenic Banking Association, expressed their support for the AUB.
AUB's accession to the European Banking Federation is an important step in strengthening the ties of the Ukrainian banking community with European partners and increasing the level of financial integration of Ukraine with the EU.
