«Da Vinci» documentary: a story of heroism and devotion
On April 2, the pre-premiere screening of the documentary film "Da Vinci" about the life path of a Ukrainian volunteer, commander of the "Wolves Da Vinci" battalion of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Hero of Ukraine Dmytro Kotsyubail (call sign "Da Vinci"), who died on March 7, 2023 in the battle for Bakhmut.
The creation of this film is the result of the joint efforts, support and dedication of many talented people. The Association of Ukrainian Banks acted as a partner of the project, providing charitable support from 20 financial institutions. : "This is a truly great man, the Hero of Ukraine. Squares, streets, and so on should be named after him."
Director Volodymyr Sydko, known with his works, which deeply reproduce historical events and personalities, emphasized: "We recorded interviews of siblings, family, beloved "Da Vinci". We tried to illustrate this whole story, compiled all these interviews into one long story."
Among those present at the screening were relatives and siblings of Dmytro, as well as TV presenter Yanina Sokolova, who personally knew the hero of the film. She noted: "He was a person who was loved by everyone, who was difficult to underestimate. Because when I hear "Dmytro Da Vinci Kotsyubailo" I have emotions similar to some legendary personality like Konovalts, Shukhevich, Bandera."
Financial assistance from the Association of Ukrainian Banks opened the opportunity for the general public to see the story of the great Hero of Ukraine.
"When we found out that the film would be shot, I approached the producer with the proposal that the Association would try to organize the financing of this project. And we acted as a single partner. I am grateful to every bank and financial company that has provided charitable assistance for this project. The story of Dmytro Kotsyubail "Da Vinci" deserves to be known to the whole world, because it is a story of heroism and devotion, which will remain in memory for many years and from which a new generation of Ukrainian patriots will grow and learn", - noted the President of the Association Andrii Dubas.
This year, free special screenings of the documentary film "Da Vinci" will be held in all regional centers of Ukraine. The film will also be seen by foreign viewers - "Da Vinci" will be shown in the countries of the European Union, Great Britain and the USA. After that, the film will be available for wide distribution in Ukrainian cinemas.
