European Billions for Ukrainian Business: UABIO members together with representatives of the Entrepreneurship Development Fund and the European Parliament discussed ways to stimulate the development of small and medium-sized enterprises in Ukraine
On February 27, the Association of Ukrainian Banks (AUB) held a meeting dedicated to lending to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). The event was attended by representatives of 50 banks and financial companies, as well as Member of the European Parliament Damian Bezelager and Chairman of the Board of the Entrepreneurship Development Fund Andriy Gapon.
One of the priority goals to which the funds will be directed is the support of SMEs. The meeting participants emphasized the importance of international cooperation and the critical role of financial institutions in restoring and supporting the Ukrainian economy. Special attention was paid to the 5-7-9 lending program for SMEs and the need to increase financial support to stimulate the economic recovery of Ukraine. Bankers and financiers discussed possible mechanisms and instruments that can be used for lending to SMEs, as well as the expansion and improvement of the "5-7-9" preferential lending program. The Chairman of the Board of the Fund for the Development of Entrepreneurship Andriy Gapon shared his experience and current programs of the fund, including the implementation of the state preferential lending program "5-7-9", which is implemented by the Fund.
Members of the Association, together with representatives of the European Parliament and the Entrepreneurship Development Fund, agreed to form a comprehensive action plan and continue the discussion on the restoration of business lending at the next meeting of the AUB. It was emphasized that extensive bank lending to businesses will help SMEs gain access to the necessary financial resources and stimulate the development of the Ukrainian economy.
President of the Association of Ukrainian Banks Andriy Dubas emphasized the importance of such meetings and thanked all participants for their active participation and constructive dialogue, which will contribute to the development of new products and programs to support the Ukrainian economy. </p style="text-align: justify;"> p>
