On December 1, 2025, the National Bank of Ukraine will introduce a new payment transaction tracking service, TrackSEP, into the Electronic Payment System (EPS).
This information and reference tool will allow individuals and legal entities to track their payments in the EPS 24/7, from the moment of initiation to the crediting of funds. The service will provide businesses with operational control over settlements with partners and citizens with a simple way to check the status of their transfers.
Users, both payers and recipients, will be able to see the status of the transaction (initiated, being processed by the bank, awaiting processing in the SEP, credited, etc.) and the time taken for each stage. This primarily applies to transfers between accounts using details/IBAN, including instant transfers via the SEPS.
The service is based on a unique payment transaction identifier, UETR (Unique End-To-End Transaction Reference). By entering the UETR in TrackSEP, users will be able to obtain detailed information about the movement of funds without disclosing personal data.
From April 1, 2026, all SEPS participants will be required to:
"Thanks to the tracking service, customers will receive a simple tool for monitoring their payments in real time, while banks and other payment service providers will be able to reduce the costs of clarifying transfer statuses. For the National Bank, this is another step in the development of a modern, transparent payment infrastructure that is compatible with European standards. It also lays the foundation for further innovations in the EPS, from multi-currency to deeper integration with European payment systems and the use of analytics and artificial intelligence in payment processing," said Volodymyr Nahorniuk, Director of the NBU's Information Technology Department.
