XX Congress of the Association of Ukrainian Banks: anniversary, systemic role, and volunteer activity

On December 4, 2025, in Kyiv, on the grounds of the National Museum of the History of Ukraine in World War II (Motherland Monument), the 20th Congress of the Association of Ukrainian Banks was held, dedicated to the 35th anniversary of the AUB.

The event brought together representatives of the banking and financial sector and became an important platform for summarizing the association's work over more than three decades.

The Association of Ukrainian Banks has been promoting the development of the national banking system for 35 years. Its activities include participation in the development and discussion of draft laws, preparation of amendments to legislation, and interaction with state bodies for the effective development of the financial sector. Thanks to this role, the AUB has become a key platform for coordinating the interests of business and regulators, as well as for introducing professional standards and ethical practices in the market.

In his speech, AUB President Andriy Dubas emphasized the importance of social responsibility in the financial sector and highlighted the association's role as a platform for the development of transparent standards and a sustainable financial environment.

Serhiy Sinchenko, CEO of Moneyveo, Chairman of the AUB Non-Bank Lending Committee, and member of the association's board, noted:

"The AUB has long ceased to be just an ‘association of banks’ in the classical sense. It is a platform where systemic issues of the financial market are resolved. Advocacy at the systemic level means that rules are written jointly, rather than imposed from above. The association acts as a neutral arbitrator between the market and the regulator: businesses can speak emotionally, and the AUB translates this into technical language. The AUB's memorandum and initiatives help the market to implement professional standards and ethical practices, complementing the work of the regulator and ensuring effective interaction with the NBU."

A special part of the event was the celebration of volunteers in the financial sector on the occasion of International Volunteer Day. Thirty employees of banks and financial institutions who actively help Ukrainian defenders and support society in wartime were awarded. This added solemnity to the anniversary celebration and emphasized the social responsibility of the financial community.

The 20th Congress and anniversary celebrations confirmed the AUB's systemic role in the development of a transparent, professional, and stable financial market in Ukraine.
