The government has simplified access to the veterans' grant program eWork, implemented with the assistance of Oschadbank
The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has adopted a resolution that makes veteran grants from eWork even more attractive. The idea is that entrepreneurs who pay taxes on the amount of the grant received within a certain period (three, five or seven years) will, if desired, additionally receive another grant payment.
The obligations to create jobs in the project for which the grant is allocated are also being relaxed. From now on, veterans are given an additional year to employ new employees. Oschad is the exclusive banking partner of the veteran direction of the e-Job program and has been actively participating in its implementation from the very beginning in 2023. Oschadbank's role is to verify grant applicants, open accounts, control the targeted use of funds, etc. Thus, with the help of Oschadbank, 1,100 veterans and their families have already received over UAH 500 million in grant funds to start and develop their business.
We remind you that under the terms of the eRobota program, which aims to support veteran entrepreneurship, grants in the amount of UAH 250,000 to UAH 1 million are provided to veterans (participants of hostilities or people with disabilities as a result of war) or the second spouse of a veteran.
To receive a grant of up to UAH 500,000, the veteran or the veteran's spouse must apply. A veteran with at least three years of entrepreneurial experience can take advantage of a grant of up to UAH 1 million. Grants of UAH 500,000 and UAH 1 million will be provided on the condition of joint financing with the recipient in a ratio of 70/30, i.e. 30% of the project cost must be covered by own funds.
The condition for providing non-repayable grants is the creation of new jobs. At the same time, the state expects that veteran entrepreneurs will employ primarily their brothers and sisters.
Grant funds can be used to purchase equipment, raw materials, materials, rent premises and vehicles necessary for the implementation of a business project, purchase licensed software, pay for marketing and advertising services.
The eWork state grant program is aimed at stimulating entrepreneurial activity and creating new jobs. In total, the state has issued over 22,000 microgrants to citizens to start their own businesses. This will potentially generate about 42,000 new jobs.
