Ukrgasbank joined the EBRD Energy Security Support Program
UGB (Ukrgasbank) has become one of the first banks in Ukraine to join the Energy Security Support Program of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), the bank's press service reports.
The EBRD is providing UGB with a €150 million financial instrument to partially cover UGB's risks in financing investments in decentralized energy production, energy storage, and energy efficiency measures.
“The EU-supported program will allow the bank to improve access to financing for energy security investments in Ukraine by easing collateral requirements for clients,” UGB said.
Who can receive funding under the program:
- Ukrainian private enterprises;
- state-owned companies, municipalities and utilities;
- individuals.
“This will help our clients to better withstand both current energy security challenges and the future impacts of climate change. We thank the EBRD and the EU for supporting Ukraine's energy security in the face of Russian attacks on critical energy infrastructure,” Ukrgasbank said in a statement.
