AUB honored leaders of the financial community on the occasion of its 35th anniversary

At a ceremony marking the 35th anniversary of the Association of Ukrainian Banks, honorary awards were presented to specialists who have shaped the work of the AUB over many years and contributed to the development of Ukraine's banking system and financial sector.

These are the people whose expertise has influenced key reforms, the implementation of standards, market development, interaction with stakeholders, institutional transformation, and the strengthening of the financial community's position in the country and abroad. Their contribution consists of specific decisions, projects, and developments that have become part of the modern financial ecosystem.

During the ceremony, the following individuals were honored:

  • Oleksandr Sugnyako – for establishing and developing the Association of Ukrainian Banks.

  • Yevhen Metsger – for his significant contribution to the formation and development of the Ukrainian mortgage market.

  • Serhiy Naumov - for his many years of conscientious work in the banking system of Ukraine and ensuring high performance indicators for Oschadbank in the period from 2020 to 2025.

  • Oleksiy Shaban - for his conscientious and professional efforts to ensure the stability of Ukraine's banking system in the period from 2020 to 2025 and the development of open banking in Ukraine.

  • Yuriy Bilokon - for his many years of contribution to the formation of the arbitration court and active participation in the development of the arbitration court at the AUB.

  • Bogdan Lukashevich - for his many years of fruitful cooperation on accounting, reporting, taxation, and auditing issues, as well as for representing and protecting the interests of the members of the Association of Ukrainian Banks and effective interaction with stakeholders.

  • Olena Yermolova - for the rapid development of the expert unit on risks and protection of creditors' rights within the framework of the Association of Ukrainian Banks.

  • Yulia Fedosyuk - for her active participation in the formation of a community of non-bank payment service providers within the framework of the AUB.
  • Yaroslav Kolesnik – for his significant contribution and active participation in creating a training program for Ukrainian school teachers in the field of financial literacy and entrepreneurship.

  • Mykhailo Medko – for his active participation in the development of SME programs and cooperation between banks and international financial organizations.

  • Andriy Koval – for actively developing documentary operations in Ukraine.

  • Yuriy Borshch – for his significant contribution to the development of the Association of Ukrainian Banks brand, communication initiatives, and the AUB's public presence.

  • Tetyana Kovach – for her many years of conscientious work for the development of the Association of Ukrainian Banks.

According to the organizers, these awards are a way to emphasize the importance of people who have shaped the rules, standards, and culture of the financial industry for years. It is thanks to such specialists that the Ukrainian financial system has survived periods of crisis, implemented reforms, and adapted to new realities — from macroeconomic challenges to full-scale war.

AUB continues the tradition of recognizing those who make a tangible contribution to the development of the financial sector and banking system, strengthening their resilience, efficiency, innovative potential, the quality of corporate interaction, and the ability of financial institutions to communicate responsibly and openly with society.

The mission of the Association of Ukrainian Banks is to support the development of the national banking system. The AUB cooperates with the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on improving the legislation governing banking activities, and interacts with the National Bank of Ukraine on regulatory support for the functioning of banks and non-bank financial institutions. The CBA takes care of the professional development of bank employees, expands international relations with associations and banking institutions of other countries.
