On October 21, the national initiative FinanceHER was launched in Kyiv, bringing together representatives of the banking sector, government institutions, business, and international partners around a common goal—expanding opportunities for women entrepreneurs and creating an inclusive financial ecosystem in Ukraine. The Association of Ukrainian Banks was represented at the event by AUB First Vice President Vitaliy Romanchukevich.
The event took place at the Sens bookstore on Khreshchatyk Street, where an atmosphere of lively dialogue, cooperation, and inspiration prevailed. The initiative is being implemented by CSR Ukraine with financial support from Mercy Corps, in partnership with the Government of the Netherlands, and its launch has become a symbol of a new stage in the formation of Ukraine's financial recovery policy.
AUB First Vice President Vitaliy Romanchukevich took part in the panel discussion “Women Lead Recovery.” Together with representatives of the National Bank of Ukraine, the Kredobank Foundation, the education business, and the U&WE Hub initiative, he discussed the practical steps needed to remove barriers to women's access to finance, as well as the role of the banking sector in shaping systemic change.
During the final part of the event, a solemn signing of the FinanceHER Memorandum took place, which lays the foundation for the creation of an ecosystem that will promote the improvement of women's digital, financial, and entrepreneurial literacy and open up broader opportunities for them in the field of finance and business development.
The Association of Ukrainian Banks was one of the first organizations to join the initiative, confirming its readiness to participate in joint projects aimed at developing entrepreneurship and strengthening the financial capacity of citizens.

«The Association of Ukrainian Banks supports the FinanceHER initiative because it believes in the power of partnership and inclusive development. It is important for us not only to talk about equal access to finance, but also to create real opportunities for those who drive the economy forward — entrepreneurs and businesswomen. We are open to cooperation and exchange of experience in order to jointly develop a more accessible, modern, and fair financial system," said Vitaliy Romanchukevich, First Vice President of the AUB.
The event organizers thanked all participants for supporting the initiative and their willingness to work together. They emphasized that FinanceHER is not just a memorandum, but a platform for dialogue between the state, business, and financial institutions, which together create conditions for Ukraine's economic recovery through the development of women's entrepreneurship.
After signing the memorandum, participants continued their communication in an informal networking format, discussing further steps for cooperation and new ideas that will help strengthen the role of women in the country's financial sector.
