Results of the activities of the Association of Ukrainian Banks for May 2025
On a monthly basis, we inform about the activities of the Association of Ukrainian Banks (hereinafter referred to as the Association or AUB).
During May 2025, the Association took the following steps/measures to address current issues in the development and protection of the interests of the financial sector:
AUB processed the response of the Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine on increasing the level of digitalization of financial services in Ukraine.
The Association sent a letter to the National Bank of Ukraine with proposals for the draft Resolution of the NBU “On Some Issues of Determining the Regulatory Capital of Non-Bank Payment Service Providers”.
The Association processed the response of the National Bank of Ukraine on proposals for the draft Resolution of the NBU “On Some Issues of Determining the Regulatory Capital of Non-Bank Payment Service Providers”.
AUB processed the response of the National Bank of Ukraine on revising the limits of simplified identification and verification of customers.
The Association has processed the response of the National Bank of Ukraine regarding proposals for exemptions for currency transactions.
Participation in thematic events
- On May 1, representatives of the Association joined an online meeting with the National Bank of Ukraine dedicated to discussing methodological issues regarding the registration of insurance intermediaries and the functioning of the relevant register.
- On May 7, the President of AUB, Radio Kyiv 98 FM, provided comments on the register of fraudsters from the National Bank of Ukraine.
- On May 9, the President of the Association, on the air of Channel 5, provided his commentary on the topic “Agreement with the USA, lending and the future of the hryvnia - what awaits the economy of Ukraine?”
- On May 10, the President of AUB was included in the air of Channel One, discussing the topic: “The role of banks in the US-Ukraine agreement on minerals, pegging to the euro and the state of lending.”
- On May 13, the President of the Association took part in the live broadcast of the “United News” telethon on the “Inter” TV channel, where he commented on the decision of the banking community to introduce a new limit on transfers between cards - UAH 100 thousand per month for clients without confirmed sources of income.
- On May 14, the second stage of the strategic workshop on European integration of the financial sector of Ukraine, organized by AUB with the support of the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ), took place.
- On May 15, the Association of JSC “Prozorro.Prodazhi” signed a memorandum of cooperation in the direction of factoring.
- On May 15, the President of AUB provided an expert commentary to the “Espresso” TV channel, where he explained in detail the key aspects of introducing a limit on transfers between cards.
- On May 16, the Association presented the analytical platform Analytical Platform of the Banking Sector.
- On May 17, with the information partnership of AUB, a Team Rapid Chess Tournament among employees of banking institutions was held in Kyiv
- On May 20, the Association took part in a meeting organized by the National Bank of Ukraine with representatives of the top 30 largest banks in Ukraine
- On May 21, AUB held a discussion with banks on current issues of the banking system after a meeting at the National Bank of Ukraine.
- On May 21, the President of the Association provided a commentary to the TV channel 'Pershy. Public Broadcasting' regarding the introduction of new rules for card transfers, which came into effect on June 1, 2025.
- On May 21, the President of AUB took part in the Second International Business Forum "Vision of Ukraine 2030" as a speaker of expert discussion No. 3 "Fintech on the march: revolution of banking services and financial technologies, "green" finance and investments".
- On May 22, a regular meeting of the AUB Committee on External Communications and Strategic Marketing was held.
- On May 23-24, a two-day strategic session of the Association of Ukrainian Banks was held, which was attended by more than 20 top management representatives of AUB member banks.
- On May 23, a meeting of the AUB Council was held, as a result of which it was decided to accept new members, namely: LLC "YINSUR" and LLC "FC FIN PAY".
- On May 27, the President of the Association took part in a live broadcast of the TV channel "Pershy. Suspilne", dedicated to the launch of a new project for non-bank financial institutions, which is being implemented by the EU jointly with the National Bank of Ukraine.
- On May 27, the first meeting of the AUB Committee on Export Support was held.
- On May 27, the Association signed a Memorandum of Strategic Cooperation with SB-CLUB.
- On May 30, the First Vice President of AUB - Vitaly Romanchukevich took part in Forbes Money - a forum on finance and investments.
Media Coverage of AUB
In May, the Association actively covered its activities in leading national media. AUB representatives participated in broadcasts on various TV channels and information platforms.
- AUB President Andriy Dubas commented on the strategic partnership between Ukraine and the United States in the field of critical raw materials, the potential peg of the hryvnia to the euro, inflation issues, and also assessed the stability of the banking sector in a war economy.
- AUB presented the Analytical Platform of the Banking Sector, which contributes to increased transparency, analytical validity of decisions, and a deeper understanding of processes in the financial sector.
- As part of its media presence, the Association also raised the issues of responsible lending, combating fraud, limiting abuses in the MFI market, the role of the NBU in financial policy, and protecting the rights of financial services consumers.
- AUB presented the position of the banking community at key business events of the month. In particular, the AUB President spoke at the Second International Business Forum “Vision of Ukraine 2030”, organized by Crowe Mikhailenko in partnership with GIZ, as part of a discussion panel on the role of banks in post-war economic recovery.
