Results of the Activities of the Association of Ukrainian Banks for February 2025

On a monthly basis, we provide updates on the activities of the Association of Ukrainian Banks (hereinafter referred to as the Association or AUB). Therefore, we inform you about the specific actions/steps taken by the Association during February 2025 concerning the resolution of relevant issues regarding the development and protection of the interests of the financial sector.

Banking Sector Issues

  • The Association sent a letter to the National Bank of Ukraine regarding the formation of the Standard Audit File for Tax.
  • AUB processed a response from the National Bank of Ukraine regarding clarifications on the reflection of bank transactions in accounting, specifically the cancellation of accrued interest for deceased/mobilized borrowers.
  • The Association sent a letter to the Ministry of Finance of Ukraine regarding the review of proposals to amend the Law of Ukraine "On Accounting and Financial Reporting in Ukraine."

Non-Banking Financial Institutions Issues

  • AUB sent a letter to the Chairman of the National Securities and Stock Market Commission, Ruslan Sadruidinovich Magomedov, requesting clarifications on specific provisions of Article 109 of the Law of Ukraine “On Joint Stock Companies.”
  • The Association sent a letter to the National Bank of Ukraine seeking clarifications on the application of NBU requirements regarding the physical and informational accessibility of services for people with disabilities and persons with limited mobility.
  • AUB sent a letter to the National Bank of Ukraine requesting clarifications regarding the analysis of the eligibility of electronic payment instruments when repaying loans.

Participation in Thematic Events

  • On February 4, the AUB Council meeting took place. Two new members were admitted to the Association, including "VIZHINFAND UKRAINE" LLC and "CONSUMER CENTER" LLC.
  • On February 5, the first meeting of the AUB Committee on External Communications and Strategic Marketing was held.
  • On February 6, the Association and the State Institution “Institute of Economics and Forecasting of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine” signed a cooperation agreement.
  • On February 6, the first meeting of the AUB Committee on Mortgage Lending Development took place.
  • On February 11, the Association conducted a training program titled "Banking Security: Principles, Methods, Solutions."
  • On February 14, the President of AUB provided comments on inflation, exchange rates, and key economic trends on the 5th Channel.
  • On February 15, the President of the Association gave a live interview discussing the acceleration of inflation to 12.9% year-on-year in Ukraine, its causes, consequences, and forecasts for 2025.
  • On February 19, in partnership with the Ministry of Finance of Ukraine, the AUB co-organized the FinYear 2025 forum dedicated to innovations in Ukraine's financial sector.
  • From February 19-22, the AUB Delegation visited Brussels.
  • On February 21, in partnership with the business event agency KA Group, AUB co-organized the "18'CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE CONFERENCE" focused on the development of customer experience in Ukraine.
  • On February 23, the film “Da Vinci” was shown in Krakow, Poland.
  • On February 25, in partnership with the Ukrainian Pravda, an event marking the anniversary of the full-scale invasion was organized.
  • On February 28, the first meeting of the AUB Committee on Documentary Operations Development was held.

Media Coverage of AUB Activities

In February, the Association actively covered its activities in the media. On February 4, materials were published about the AUB Council meeting, important decisions regarding the development of the Association, cooperation with the Institute of Economics of the NAS of Ukraine, the activities of the Mortgage Lending Committee (specifically, the development of the eOselya program), and the training program on "Banking Security."
The working visit to Brussels was summarized, where the Ukrainian financial delegation met with EU representatives to strengthen cooperation in the financial sector.
The Association established the Committee on External Communications and Strategic Marketing, which brought together communication representatives from leading Ukrainian banks. The Committee will facilitate the implementation of common standards for bank interactions with the media, the public, and regulatory bodies.
AUB representatives appeared on TV channels and radio, commenting on current financial issues, including card transfers, the "5-7-9%" program, inflation, and the exchange rate.
The business publication Forbes received expert commentary on changes in the competitive landscape of the banking market, the impact of international financial players, and possible scenarios for the future of competition. The publication in Forbes affirms the growing authority of AUB as an expert center for analyzing financial policy and the market.

The mission of the Association of Ukrainian Banks is to support the development of the national banking system. The AUB cooperates with the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on improving the legislation governing banking activities, and interacts with the National Bank of Ukraine on regulatory support for the functioning of banks and non-bank financial institutions. The CBA takes care of the professional development of bank employees, expands international relations with associations and banking institutions of other countries.
