Укр From account to account: test launch of instant payments may take place as early as 2024
This was stated by Alexander Lapko, CEO of RozetkaPay in interview of the Internet portal PaySpace Magazine. According to him, instant payments or account-to-account transactions will allow to build new settlement models.
"In instant payments, money gets into the account within 10 seconds. And in addition to speed, such payments are cheaper, because payment systems are not involved and there is no interchange. In addition, during the initiation of the transaction, the client communicates with the banking service. So at this moment the bank can offer something to the client. Plus, we have already seen the experience of such services in Poland, launching the payment infrastructure for "Rozetka" in Poland — it is quite a convenient and effective method of payments.
According to Oleksandr Lapko's forecast, instant payments will start working in Ukraine approximately in 2025.
"We are talking now with the National Bank and the market to understand how it all should work. So, theoretically, the test launch can take place as early as 2024, but we are waiting for the full launch in 2025. our focus is instant payments. We actively cooperate both with the National Bank and with our clients and partners in the banking sphere. We believe that within a year, instant payments will appear in Ukraine," said CEO RozetkaPay.
