This week, the first working meeting between teams from the Association of Ukrainian Banks and the STEP IN 2 EU international cooperation program took place.
The meeting took place within the framework of a new joint project aimed at promoting the sustainability and competitiveness of the Ukrainian banking sector, the main objectives of which are:
– harmonization of Ukrainian legislation in the financial sector with EU legislation
– integration of the banking sector into the European financial space
– developing joint programs and events for 2026
During the meeting, the parties discussed the main organizational and coordination issues related to the implementation of the project and agreed on the participation of international experts and speakers.
The joint work has already started, and we are confident that it will benefit Ukrainian banks and small and medium-sized businesses!
Background information:
The STEP IN 2 EU international cooperation program is co-financed by the governments of Germany and Norway, as well as the European Union within the EU4Business initiative, and is implemented by the German federal company Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH.
The program aims to support Ukrainian state institutions in promoting the EU accession process in economic areas, as well as to create better economic conditions and financial opportunities for Ukrainian companies, allowing them to gain additional opportunities from integration into the EU single market.
