Despite the war, Ukraine’s financial sector remains stable and continues to grow. The most successful banks and financial companies were honored on March 12 at the annual “Main Financial Award of the Year,” organized by the Association of Ukrainian Banks.
The awards ceremony was attended by representatives of leading banks, financial institutions, government and regulatory bodies, as well as financial market experts.
The Association of Ukrainian Banks’ “Main Financial Award of the Year” annually recognizes institutions that demonstrate the best results, dynamic growth, and operational efficiency in the financial sector.
The winners were determined based on official statistics from the National Bank of Ukraine as of January 1, 2026. The ranking was compiled using key financial indicators.
To ensure the most objective assessment of performance, institutions were divided into separate categories according to asset size.
Specifically, banks were grouped into the following categories:
• Banks with state ownership
• Banks belonging to foreign banking groups with net assets exceeding UAH 40 billion
• Banks belonging to foreign banking groups with net assets up to UAH 40 billion
• Privately owned banks with net assets exceeding UAH 10 billion
• Privately owned banks with net assets between 4 and 10 billion UAH
• Privately owned banks with net assets up to 4 billion UAH
Financial companies were divided into the following categories:
• State institutions
• Financial companies providing corporate lending
• Financial companies providing consumer lending
• Leasing companies
• Non-bank financial payment companies
This approach allows for an accurate comparison of the performance of financial institutions with similar scales of operations and business models, making the selection of winners as transparent and objective as possible.
This year, 32 banks and 19 financial companies were nominated for the award.

Most Influential Women in the Financial Sector
This year, for the first time, the awards introduced a special category: “Most Influential Women in the Financial Sector.”
